Lancaster park city mall shooting – 16-year-old Jeremiahs Josiah-Alberto Sanchez, of Lancaster, has been charged in the shooting at Park City Center on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
According to Lancaster County District Attorney Heather Adams, said in a statement on Friday morning that Alberto Sanchez, is being charged as an adult with charges of;
Two counts of criminal attempted homicide.
Three counts of aggravated assault.
52 counts of recklessly endangering another person.
One count of person not to possess a firearm.
One count of carrying a firearm without a license.
One count of possession of a firearm by a minor.
One count of receiving stolen property.
The armed bystander who intervened will not be charged, they said.
“It is very fortunate that more people were not hurt.
The armed civilian’s actions were not only justified under the law, but potentially and likely prevented others from serious injury or death,” she said.
According to police, the incident started when an 18-year-old confronted Sanchez, leading to a physical altercation between the 18-year-old, Sanchez and three other people.
Police said Sanchez pulled a concealed handgun from his waistband and fired twice at the 18-year-old, hitting him in the thigh.
A bullet also hit an uninvolved 30-year-old woman in the arm.
A 50-year-old armed man heard the shots and approached the area. At that time, police said, Sanchez fired another round.
According to police, Sanchez’s gun was stolen from Lebanon County.
The other three shooting victims have been released from the hospital, the district attorney said.
The district attorney said several other people required medical attention due to the chaos caused by the shooting.
