Springfield man killed, another flown to hospital following Highway 126 motorcycle accident
Karl Rudolph Klassen Death – Obituary: A two-motorcycle that happened on Highway 126 east of McKenzie Bridge has claimed the life of one motorcyclist and injuries another.
The crash happened on Saturday afternoon, around 2:19 p.m.
According to initial report, Karl Rudolph Klassen, 60, of Springfield was travelling on Highway 126 with his Blue 1993 BMW motorcycle when he was hit by a maroon 2014 Harley-Davidson, was operated by a 68-year-old man from Tuscon Arizona on milepost 13.
The second motorcycle was trying to make a left turn onto a forest road when the collision occurred.
Authorities got to the scene and pronounced Klassen dead at the scene.
The other victim got major injuries and was flown to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield by helicopter. Officials say, “He was in the intensive care unit, but is expected to survive.”
The crash is still under investigation by the OSP.
