Johanny Rosario Death – Obituary: Fallen hero – Johanny Rosario has been identified as one of the 13 US service members killed in Afghanistan airport bombing.

Johanny Rosario Life:

Department of Defense identified Marine Corps Sgt. Johanny Rosario Pichardo (Aged 25) as one of the 13 US service members killed in Afghanistan airport bombing on Thursday, 26th of August 2021. Rosario attended high school in the north-eastern Massachusetts city, Lawrence and was assigned to the 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Naval Support Activity Bahrain.

Tributes and condolences for Johanny Rosario

Residents of her community in Massachusetts have trooped out to hold vigil for the deceased in a service that was held by “Massachusetts Fallen Heroes” ( a group founded by veterans who served in Afghanistan and Iraq). A wreath was laid to honour the memory of Rosario, roses were laid and candles were lit.

Gov. Charlie Baker called Rosario “a Massachusetts hero gone too soon.

The two U.S. senators from Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey, praised Rosario and offered condolences to her family.

Elizabeth Warren tweeted “Her courage saved thousands of lives and her selfless service represents the best of our country. My heart aches for her loved ones.”

Ed Markey said the people of Massachusetts and the U.S “always will remember her brave service to our country. There is no measure of thanks for Sgt. Rosario Pichardo’s ultimate sacrifice, so we must honour her heroism in service to the United States and all of those we lost in this attack.”

The Dominican Republic’s embassy in the United States tweeted condolences Friday to the family and friends of Rosario, saying she was of Dominican origin.

Sonia Guzmán, the Dominican Republic’s ambassador to the United States, tweeted in Spanish that: “The Dominican community shares in the family’s pain. Peace to your soul!”.
