Jason Huber Death – Obituary : According to reports, a man accused of shooting and killing a 32-year-old man of Wichita in Riverside Park last week, has been charged with first-degree murder.
The suspect, Daniel Scott Carpenter made his first appearance Wednesday where an additional charges of attempted aggravated battery was added to his charges.
Wichita police located Jason Huber in the 800 block of West Murdock with a gunshot wound and his bicycle stolen. He was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
According to the Kansas Department of Corrections and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation offender records, Carpenter is on parole in Sedgwick County for aggravated indecent liberties with a 14-year-old girl, criminal sodomy with a child, criminal damage to property, burglary and theft.
Carpenter’s next court date is booked for Sept. 23. His bond is set at $500,000, reports said.
