1 killed, two injured following mine collapse in Queensland
According to report, a 60-year-old worker has died and two others seriously injured following shaft collapsed at the Sojitz Gregory Crinum Coal Mine, north of Emerald in central Queensland.
The incident happened on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at about 11:00 p.m.
The deceased man and two others were trapped after a part of the wall and ceiling shaft they were working in collapsed at the mine.
The 60-year-old man suffered life threatening injuries and died at the scene of the crash while another 20-year-old worker who suffered leg and pelvic injuries was flown to Rockhampton Base Hospital in critical condition.
Also, another 20-year-old man was taken to Emerald Hospital with serious injuries for medical treatment.
The Queensland Mines Inspectorate alongside Resources Minister Scott Stewart is investigating the accident.
