Five pedestrians seriously injured following a laughing gas car accident in Champs-Élysées
A vehicle driver under laughing gas have reported injured five pedestrians. The accident took place on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at about 10 p.m. on the avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris
According to report, the driver of the Smart was stopped at a traffic light at the top of the avenue, along the line, the driver accelerated, her foot sliding from the brake pedal to that of the accelerator.
The vehicle then veered off into the median and struck several pedestrians dragging one of the pedestrians with the car several meters. Three of the pedestrians were transported with serious injuries to the hospital while two others sustained minor injuries.
Further investigation revealed that nitrous oxide balloons were found inside the vehicle; a laughing gas. The driver of the vehicle was apprehended and taken into custody.
