Frank L. Burke of of Scranton, Pennsylvania has died. Burke passed away Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021 at Regional Hospital of Scranton after an illness.
Burke was born in Scranton, to parents, Frank L. III and Mary Alice Boylan Burke. This is such a sad time for the family and loved ones Burke has left behind. He is survived by his parents, his loving sister, Shannon Burke; paternal grandmother, Jane T. Burke; aunts and uncles, Jane Burke, Ann Calpin, Michael and Frank Boylan, Anne Boylan and Dom Lanzo; cousins, Michael Boylan, Casey Calpin Zaffino, Jamie Jeffers, Kaleena Lewis, Liam Boylan; and many more amazing friends. Deeply proud of his Irish heritage, he was everyone’s friend, the life of the party, biggest Notre Dame and Colts fan, whose love of family, joy of life and memory will live forever.
Cause of death
Burke died after losing the battle to an illness.
Burke will always be remembered as being a kind, loving and giving man. Even with that, his final act of kindness and the last gift he gave was to the Gift of Life Donor Program.
Friends may call Wednesday, 3 to 8 p.m., at the Donahue Funeral Home, 303 S Main Ave., Scranton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St Ann’s Basilica, 1250 St. Ann’s St., Scranton, with the family greeting friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow after the Mass in Cathedral Cemetery. Nothing prepares a person for the loss of a loved one and so at a dire time like this, we extend our warmest condolences to the family of the deceased.
