Flor Del Mar Hernandez Tapia Death: Cause of Death – A woman was found dead with signs of trauma on Tuesday’s barricade situation on the south side.
TPD has identified Flor Del Mar Hernandez Tapia as the victim of the homicide at the 3700 block of East 23rd Street near Reid Park.
Further investigations show that there was also a second person, a 19-year-old female, who was located and taken to Banner University Medical with minor injuries.
Tucson Police Department officers identified a suspect that is related to the incident. They say he’s responsible for the shooting death of 39-yr-old Flor Del Mar Hernandez Tapia.
Brandon Michael Watts, 39, was identified as Tapia’s boyfriend. He was at the Siegel Select Tucson hotel located at 4800 S. Butterfield. Watts had barricaded himself in a room of the hotel with hostages.
Among the hostages was a mother with her four children. The mother was inflicted with non-life-threatening injuries, but the children were not harmed.
After some time Watts was found dead with a “self-inflicted gunshot wound.” because he had not surrendered to the law enforcement earlier.
