Modesto man killed, another arrested following a three-vehicle accident near McHenry Avenue and Standiford Avenue
Erik Davalos Death – Obituary: Authorities have disclosed the identities of the victim that died in a fatal three accident near McHenry Avenue and Standiford Avenue in Modesto
The accident happened on Sunday evening, around 5:30 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2022 black Hyundai IONIQ driven by Erik Davalos, 33, of Modesto was moving on Sylvan and Woodrow avenues when he was crashed by a black 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Miguel Angel Zapien, 20, of Escalon.
The impact of the crash caused Davalos’ vehicle to move into southbound lanes on McHenry Avenue and hit a 2009 black Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Modesto firefighters reported to the scene and ejected Davalos who sustained fatal injuries from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Zapien got minor injuries from the accident. He was treated of his injuries and was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges.
Police booked him into the Stanislaus County Jail.
