One person’s life has been claimed in a fatal four-vehicle accident that occurred on Tuesday evening around 4:13 p.m. at the junction of U.S. Route 36/state Route 37 and Davidson Lane.
The Authorities have identified the deceased person as Emma Klausing, 19, of Mount Blanchard.
The police reported that a 1997 Ford Super Duty ambulance and a silver 2001 Honda Accord in the westbound lane were at rest waiting for the light at the junction. When the light turned green, the Accord was struck by a 2017 Freightliner Cascadia driven by Benjamin Howell, 76, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia before the Accord ran into a private ambulance.
Authorities added that another vehicle in the westbound lane was also crashed by flying debris.
Klausing, a passenger in the Honda was confirmed dead at the stop by the officials.
Other victims of the crash were rushed to hospital with sever injuries.
It was equally reported that the driver of the Freightliner identified as Howell was not injured in the accident.
The crash is still under investigation.
