Emma Conner Death – Obituary : Lake County Coroner’s Office have identified 19-year-old Emma Conner, of West Lafayette as the girl that died from injuries suffered after being trapped inside her vehicle following three-vehicle accident that occurred on Interstate 65 Tuesday afternoon.
The fatal crash that claimed the life of Conner took place at about 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 on southbound I-65.
Conner was pronounced dead on September 15 at Franciscan Health hospital in Crown Point. She died of blunt force trauma sustained in the vehicle accident.

According to report, Conner was slowing slowing as she was nearing gridlock when she was struck from behind by a Jeep at a high rate of speed near mile marker 237 in southern Lake County.
Her car was sent into the truck in front of her as a result of the impact. The Jeep rear-ended Conner’s car came a stop on top of her 2007 Toyota trapping her inside the vehicle.
Helicopter was sent to the scene of the crash to airlift her to the hospital but she could not be flown due to the severity of her injuries. She was later transported by ambulance to Franciscan Health hospital in Crown Point.
It was not made known if the driver that rear-ended was hurt.
Authorities not suspect drugs and alcohol to be factors in the crash.
