Elaine Johnson, age progression picture released to help find woman missing for over 41 years.
Elaine Johnson was seen last on the 1st of February, She left her home Kurnell and has not been seen since.
Kerry Joel, Elaine friend who she was said to have met with that day also went missing same day. They were both reported missing in February 1980. Extensive search was carried out over the years both neither of the women were found.
Ms Cooper , Eliane’s sister said “She was young and vulnerable. [Kerry and Elaine] were just two young girls who went missing and were treated as runaways but they weren’t. Something happened – they would have come back, We were really, really close. Someone has taken her and thrown her life away.”
Eliane Johnson is amongst the seven people to be featured across a series of short videos to be progressively launched from today for National Missing Persons Week 2021 (NMPW), which runs from 1-7 August. The theme for NMPW 2021 is: “Their face might have changed. Missing them hasn’t.”
“It is hoped the images, some of which show how a person may look more than 20 years after going missing, increase the awareness in the community of the long-term missing person and that the family are still searching for answers,” an AFP spokesperson said.
Helen Cooper and her sister Wendy Johnson regularly bushwalk around Sydney but they aren’t admiring the rivers, trees or animals. Instead, they wonder if their sister could be buried in the wilderness.
