Two vehicle crash claimed the life of a man and a woman seriously injured in Madera County.
According official the incident happened at Highway 145 and Avenue 6, north of Skaggs Bridge Park in Madera County on Thursday at 8:37 p.m.
It was gathered that a Nissan minivan was driving eastbound on Avenue 6, on getting Highway 145 the driver, for unknown reason, went off in front of a tractor-trailer rig that was heading south on Highway 145, it crashed the trailer and caught on fire.
Troopers stated that witnesses helped to pull the front passenger out but could not pull the unconscious driver out before the vehicle was consumed with fire.
The 40-years-old driver was confirmed dead at the scene by the officials.
The 42-year-old passenger from Mendota was flown to community Regional Medical Center in a life-threatening condition.
Mafana said “the driver of the trailer was a 58-year-old man from Kerman. He had a complaint of pain to his shoulder.”
The identity of the deceased person is not revealed yet, pending next of kin notification.
The crash is still under CHP investigation.
