1 dead, 3 others injured following U.S. 90 crash involving Okaloosa County school bus
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a crash that occurred at the intersection of U.S. Highway 90 and Clint Mason Road, east of the Shoal River Bridge near Crestview around 3:52 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 claimed the life of 18-year-old girl leaving three others injured.
The crash involved a Nissan sedan and Okaloosa County school bus.
The crash occurred when an Okaloosa County school bus which alighted in the eastbound lane at the intersection to make a left turn to Clint Mason road was rear ended by Nissan sedan which had refused to stop.
The Nissan then went underneath the bus. Paramedics confirmed the driver of the Nissan, an 18-year-old woman from DeFuniak Springs dead at the scene.
Meanwhile three others; the driver of the school bus, a 64-year-old man from Milton, and two 10-year-old girls from Crestview suffered minor injuries.
Parents of the teens arrived the scene and pickup their children after being informed of the incident by Okaloosa County School Administration personnel
The crash remains under investigation.
