David Patten Death – Obituary – Former NFL wide receiver David Patten died on Thursday at the age of 47.
Patten was confirmed dead in South Carolina, according to Sam Gordon who spoke to ESPN’s Mike Reiss about Patten’s death.
David won three Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots. During his 12-year NFL career, Patten played for five teams but he was best known for his four seasons with the Patriots from 2001 to 2004.
Patten retired in 2010 during the Patriots training camp.

Former teammates Richard Seymour and Deion Branch were parts of those that sent their tributes across the internet.
Gordon told Espn: “If there is one thing I want people to know about David, it’s that as great a player he was, he was a better man.”
Charlie Weis also said: ‘Shocked and saddened about the sudden tragic death of David Patten. An excellent player, an even better person. Family guy, team guy, devout Christian. Prayers are all directed this way. RIP David. You will be sorely missed.”
