Daren McDonald Found Dead At His Falmouth Home | Falmouth News
Falmouth businessman Daren J. McDonald was found dead at his home on Old Campus Drive Thursday morning, Falmouth Police Chief Edward A. Dunne said.
Officers arrived on scene at 7:10 AM after receiving a call from the Falmouth Fire and Rescue Department, whose medics were already at the home. Mr. McDonald was found dead by his family, Falmouth Police Lieutenant Douglas DeCosta said in an email.
The death is under investigation by Falmouth police, state police and the medical examiner’s office, the lieutenant said, and does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
Spokesperson for the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office Tara L. Miltimore said they are awaiting the autopsy results from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Mr. McDonald, 52, owned Clover Paving Company, and leaves behind a wife and children.
He was facing witness intimidation charges at the time of his death. In March, he pled not guilty in Falmouth District Court to the charge after he allegedly misled investigating officers and misrepresented information regarding his son’s whereabouts. His son was a suspect in an assault that occurred a house party last August. Mr. McDonald’s next court date was scheduled for June 25.
