Dakota Sky Autumn Leigh missing – Jefferson City girl found in Kansas, and suspect 59-year-old Gilbert John Leigh detained

8-year-old Dakota Sky Autumn Leigh, reportedly went missing on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at about 10:10 am, at 1309 Jefferson Street, and concern grew for her as the day passed hence police began investigation as they cared about the safety of the missing girl.

Apparently the 59-year-old who is the non-custodial father of Leigh was suspected to have abducted the little girl as he arrived in Jefferson City after hitchhiking from Montana on Saturday, and he mysteriously disappeared with the little girl, the following morning after there was an agreement for him to spend just a night with Leigh.

Gilbert John Leigh description

He is described as a white male, about 5’11” tall, weighs 200 lbs, black and gray hair, brown eyes, medium complexion.

He was last seen wearing a black Harley Davidson coat and a USA shirt.

Dakota Sky Autumn Leigh description

She is described as an Indian female, about 5′ tall, with weight of 68 lbs, brown hair, brown eyes, medium complexion with a birthmark on her left eye and a scar on her upper lip, and was last seen wearing a pink coat, a gray shirt, dark pants, and black and neon Nike shoe.

When was Dakota Sky Autumn Leigh found?

After a period of search, Police announced that the 8-year-old was found on at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday night the child was found in Kansas and the suspect is in custody.
