The identities of the three persons that died in a plane crash on Saturday around 6 p.m. in southeastern Minnesota have been revealed.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane went down and caught fire when it was flew from Alexandria Municipal Airport to Eden Prairie’s Flying Cloud Airport in Victoria,
The distance of the city was 7,300, about 25 miles southwest of Minneapolis.
According to Jo Mertes, of Mantador, relation of the deceased persons identified them as Jacob Mertes, 42, his wife, Sara Mertes, 37, of Libby, Montana and the pilot of the plane named Dr. James Edney, 72.
It was gathered that the plane was owned by Edney, an Omaha general surgeon and professor of surgery at University of Nebraska Medical Center.
According to the newspaper reported, Sara Mertes’ Facebook page indicated that she was a physician at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center in Libby,
Jacob Mertes worked as a sanitarian and planner for the Lincoln County Health Department in Montana.
