Councilman Jessie Hobbs of Elkmont, Alabama Obituary – Death
The death of Jessie Hobbs came as a shock to the residents of Elkmont. Hobbs passed away on the September 4, 2021. This is such a sad time for the family and loved ones Hobbs has left behind. He was known for going above and beyond for his community and serving beyond just the expectations of his official duty. He served his town, Elkmont High School, and the community at large.
Cause of death

In a brief statement, Elkmont Mayor Tracy Compton remembered Councilman Jessie Hobbs as a someone who cared for his town:
“…He loved his family and we pray for God’s comforting hand on all of them during this tragic time. Words cannot express the deep sorrow and sense of loss that I personally feel and share with so many that extends well beyond the town limits”.
In a Facebook post, local business Elkmont Food Mart also remembered Hobbs, stating, “Jessie and the entire Hobbs family have been long time customers of ours… we will miss seeing Jessie in the store telling stories, having a good conversation, and making us all laugh.”
