Grand Rapids man and Comstock Park man killed in two separate crashes in Kent County, Michigan
Walker troopers are investigating two separate tragic crashes that led to the deaths of 21-year-old Grand Rapids man and a 33-year-old Comstock Park man which occurred on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
The first crash which claimed the life of the a 21-year-old Grand Rapids man happened around 7:34 p.m. at the entrance ramp to westbound I-96 from Alpine Avenue. The Grand Rapids man was riding a motorcycle when he collided with a car that was driven by 68-year-old Grand Rapids man. He suffered life threatening injuries and died at the scene of the crash. While his two male passengers were not harmed.
The second car accident happened around 9:41 p.m. in the 2400 block of Turner Avenue NW, south of a West River Drive when a 33-year-old Comstock Park who was the only occupant of the vehicle crashed into tree and died on the spot.
Authorities suspect speed to be a factor in the crash.
Walker firefighters responded to both crashes. The crashes remain under investigation by Walker troopers.
