Tyrique Watley Death: Cause of Death,

Authorities have identified Tyrique Watley, 18, as an Alameda resident who was fatally shot Sunday morning in the Uptown district.

Tyrique was a student at Lincoln University in downtown Oakland.

He was said to be a passenger in a car driving on Broadway when someone from the sidewalk began to shoot, as reported by the police. Watley was shot alongside two women about 2:48 a.m. in the 1900 block of Broadway.

The two women were reported wounded, but Tyrique was pronounced later in the hospital. Police confirmed that all the victims in the shooting were coming from the clubs around that area.

Watley was rushed to the hospital by the driver of the vehicle he was in.

Police reported that they believe the shooter may have been near a parked food truck.

Police are investigating the cause of the shooting.

According to posts across social media, Watley had graduated from Canyon Springs High School in Las Vegas this year and had reached an agreement with a football scholarship at Lincoln.
