Christopher George Death – Obituary : Police say a man was shot dead by Davis police Wednesday night during an altercation.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said a 911 caller reported a disturbance outside a home in the 100 block of Pence Road at about 10:15 p.m.
“One Davis police officer arrived on the scene and encountered Christopher George in the yard,” the OSBI said in a written statement. “George initiated an altercation with the officer, eventually gaining possession of the officer’s service weapon.”
The OSBI said a second Davis officer arrived and witnessed the struggle.
“As the altercation between George and the officer ensued, George fired one round from the officer’s service weapon. No one was injured by that round,” the OSBI reported, adding that the suspect continued struggling and then raised the gun.
“At that point, the second officer fired his weapon multiple times, killing George,” the OSBI said.
One officer was taken to a hospital to be checked out and was later released.
The OSBI said it would not release the name of the officer or officers involved unless the district attorney determines that charges should be filed.
