Charles Partridge Death – Obituary – A Ukiah man was killed this week when the motorcycle he was riding collided with an SUV on South State Street, the Ukiah Police Department reported.
According to the UPD, officers and personnel from the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority responded to the intersection of South State Street and Beacon Lane shortly after 5 p.m. Jan. 11 when it was reported that a collision between an SUV and a motorcycle had occurred.
When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the ground near one edge of South State Street, and his motorcycle in the parking lot of a nearby restaurant. The man was unresponsive, and when life-saving measures by emergency medical responders were unsuccessful, he was pronounced deceased.
The man was identified as 52-year-old Charles Partridge, a resident of Ukiah.
The second vehicle was described as a “full-sized SUV (which) sustained major damage to its driver side,” though none of its occupants were injured.

The roadway was closed for approximately five hours as UPD detectives and Mendocino District Attorney’s investigators processed the scene. The UPD reports that, “at this time the investigation shows that the motorcycle was traveling southbound and collided with the SUV as the SUV was making a left turn out of the El Molcajete parking lot to travel northbound on South State Street. The investigation into this collision is on-going.
