Charles Lamar Chestnut death – obituary, cause of death : Charles Lamar Chestnut 22, of Lexington. Has died. He passed away after being involved in a single car crash on September 12, 2021.
Charles was said to be on his way to visit a friend, when the car he was driving lost control sudden going off the road, as Charles struggled to take control of the wheels to stop the car from heading into the trees ahead of him.
But unfortunately, all efforts proved futile as the car skidded of the road ramming into the trees in front of it and going into a tumble before finally coming to a halt amongst the trees. Lamar was not alone in the car as he had a younger passenger.
According to Coroner Fisher, Charles died on the scene as he was not wearing a seatbelt but his fellow passenger was lucky to have only sustained injuries as she had her seatbelt on. She was rush to the nearest hospital but is in critical condition.
Fisher said, the man identified as Mr. Charles Lamar Chestnut, 22, of Lexington was driving on 2300 block of South Lake Drive at approximately 3:00 A.M. on September 12, 2021 when his vehicle went off the left side of the roadway, struck several trees and then overturned killing him instantly. A juvenile in the vehicle with Mr. Chestnut, who was ejected during the accident, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
An investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol is ongoing.
