55-year-old woman killed following hit-and-run accident on I-15 in Carmel Mountain
A 55-year-old woman reported be killed following a hit-and-run accident that occurred on I-15 in the Carmel Mountain in San Diego, California.
The accident involving three vehicles happened took place on Thursday, September 23, 2021 on northbound I-15 at Ted Williams Parkway and State Route 56 around 2 a.m.
According to report, a 30-year-old man was driving a Ford pickup when he crashed collided head-on with a Toyota sedan driven by a 55-year-old woman. After the initial crash, the Ford pick-up was parked in the traffic lanes when it was struck by a Kia Sedan driven by a 51-year-old Desert Hot Springs man.
The woman in the Toyota sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford fled the scene on foot. He was later found by the San Diego Police Department after an serious search.
The driver of Kia was taken to to Scripps La Jolla Hospital with minor injuries.
The crash remain under investigation.
