Carmel Lucibello Obituary- Death, Carmel Lucibello Funeral
Carmel Falcone Lucibello, 92, of Pompano Beach, Florida formerly of North Haven, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022, at the Imperial Point Hospital, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She was the widow of Andrew Joseph Lucibello. Mrs. Lucibello was born in the Clintonville section of North Haven on June 30, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Anthony Falcone and Frances M. Casburro Falcone. She was a resident of North Haven most of her life moving to Pompano Beach, FL in 1995. She had worked for over 35 years for the North Haven Board of Education until retiring in 1986. She was a teacher at the Montowese Elementary School, a Reading Consultant at Montowese and Ridge Road Elementary Schools, Principal of the former Center School, Mill Road School and Clintonville Elementary School and served as interim principle at Ridge Road School after her retirement.
She earned her Bachelor and master’s degrees from Southern CT State Teachers College (SCSU) and did her advanced graduate studies at the University of Hartford where she earned her 6th year degree and credits toward a doctorate. Mrs. Lucibello was an active member of CT Elementary and Middle School Principals, the CT Association of Reading Teachers, The National and CT Education Associations, New Haven Retired Teachers Association, and the National Reading Association. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority for many years. Mrs. Lucibello was a former parishioner of St. Barnabas Church in North Haven and presently a communicant of St. Gabriel’s Church in Pompano Beach, FL. Mrs. Lucibello is predeceased by all her siblings: brothers Dominic Falcone, Anthony Falcone, Jr., Carmen Falcone and two sisters: Marie Grace Falcone and Margaret Ann DeAngelis. She is also predeceased by several nieces and nephews but survived by several loving and caring nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as the beloved widow of her nephew Louis Piscitelli, Jeanne Rose Piscitelli. Mrs. Lucibello has been an active member in her condominium complex. She has served on the Women’s club and was a member of the Condo Board of Directors for over 17 years as Chairman of all Sales and Leases and other responsibilities assigned to her.
The visiting hours will be Sunday, Jan. 9th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven on Monday morning, Jan. 10th at 10:00.
