Canberra man killed in Queanbeyan East auto-pedestrian accident

A 38-year-old Canberra man has reportedly be killed following a tragic pedestrian -car accident that happened on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at about 8 p.m. in East Queanbeyan.

The Canberra was walking at the intersection of Hill Lane and Kings Highway when he was struck from behind by a  a Volkswagen Amarok driven by a 25-year-old Bungendore man.

Investigation revealed that the man was walking in the middle of the road, in the dark.

The man suffered major injuries and he was given emergency treatment by Police and paramedics but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

The 25-year-old Bungendore man who was the driver of the vehicle was not hurt and has has been taking to the hospital for testing.

Investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing and anyone with information or dashcam footage regarding the crash is asked to call NSW Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000
