Brandon Quam Missing – The 18-year-old who walked away from Decorah High School has been located safe and sound.
On Monday, 23 August, 2021, a report was made by the Decorah High School authorities to the police about a missing vulnerable student, who walked out of school that morning, at about 9:30 a.m. heading towards Water Street in Decorah.
Search teams including those on foots, horseback, UTVs and drones too were immediately deployed to locate Brandon Quam. Lots of people offered to help, they were all asked to register ate the Decorah Fire Department garage before the search, which was scheduled to 8 p.m. on Monday and resumes Tuesday morning if they are unable to find him, began.
The Decorah Police Department advised residents that Brandon is “non-responsive” and may not easily engage with someone who approaches him. In a Facebook post, the department said that he has some special needs and may need assistance.
Officers advised individuals to check their vehicles and properties.
However, in an update this morning, the Winneshiek County Medical official stated that 18-year-old Brandon Quam has been found safe and he is currently being evaluated by EMS.
