Armed cops were reportedly seen in the area of Montrose as early as 5.15am yesterday, Tuesday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said “Police were called at around 3.40am on Tuesday, 2 November, 2021, following the sudden death of a man in the Rossie Island Road area of Montrose.

Officers have confirmed the nature of the find, reported on Esk Road in the Rossie Island area of the town.

It is understood that there is no threat to the wider public.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Cops confirmed the tragic discovery in the early hours of this morning after the alarm was raised near the Angus town’s Rossie Island Road.

Locals had reported seeing armed officers in the area from 3.40am.

Posting on social media, one said: “Armed police in Rossie Island this morning at 05.15 outside a guest house.”

Another added: “Police visible at both ends of Rossie bridge Montrose cordoned off.”

A cop spokesman said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.


There have been a theory that the man might have been shot, but there is no prove about the statement.

And the man has not been identified at this time.
