Betty L. Wood death – obituary, cause of death : Betty L. Wood 78, of Collinsville, Il, has died. She passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, IL. On August 11th 2021.

Betty was born on February 18th1943 in East. St. Louis, IL, she attended and graduated from Collinsville High School. she then began a career as a secretary for Abstracts & Titles in Edwardsville and retired from Bi-State Claims in Collinsville.

Wood was a proud member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville. She loved listening to music, dancing, bowling and was a card shark, especially with poker. She loved spending time with her family and friends and most of all, her beloved granddaughter, Ava.  She was a caring and humorous woman, who loved everyone.

She truly was a perfect example of what it means to be a wonderful person. she had a calming presence and was extremely kind, she touched the hearts of so many, and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

The 78 years old was a much-loved character who touched the lives of so many with her big heart, wisdom and greatness, her pleasures were simple, her needs were few. If her family was happy, she was too. she gave us love in the fullest measure, Care, devotion and memories to treasure. she shared our dreams, hopes and tears.

She is survived by her son, Paul Wood beloved granddaughter, Ava Wood and three brothers:   Bill Schuck, Terry Schuck and Al Schuck.

Cause of death:

The circumstances surrounding the actual cause of death had not been made public as at the time of writing this report.

Memorial visitation will be from 1 – 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL with a service at 3 p.m. officiated by Pastor Dale Skeesick.

Memorials may be made in Betty’s honor to Holy Cross Lutheran Church and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street. Maryville, IL 62062.
