A man has been pronounced dead in a two-vehicle crash that happened on Thursday in East Baton Rouge Parish around 9 p.m.
The preliminary investigation disclosed that the crash took place when a man identified as Chews attempted to enter the eastbound lanes of LA Hwy 408 from a private driveway in a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro.
At the same time, a 2019 GMC Sierra was driving eastbound on LA Hwy 408. Chew entered into the path of the GMC, this led to the GMC crashing the Chevrolet on its driver’s side door.
Authorities reported that Chew was ejected from the vehicle and transported to the hospital where he succumb to his injuries.
It was gathered that non of the victims of the incident was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The passenger in the Chevrolet is said to have incurred minor injuries. She was also taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the GMC was properly restrained and sustained minor injuries.
As part of the ongoing investigation, toxicology samples were obtained from both drivers for analysis.
