Baraboo Student And One Other Dead, Three Critically Injured In Sauk County Car Accident  

A fatal car accident that happened on Friday morning, October 29, 2021 in Sauk County, Wisconsin has claimed the lives of two people including a Baraboo student, leaving three others with serious injuries.

According to the a statement released by the School District of Baraboo Superintendent, Dr. Rainey L. Briggs, one student was killed, three others including a former student were seriously injured following the car accident. And a fifth victim who is not not enrolled in Baraboo schools, was also in the vehicle.

 “It is with deep sorrow I share with you that a car accident occurred this morning involving District students. We tragically lost one student. Two other current students, and one former student were seriously injured in the accident. A fifth person, not enrolled in Baraboo schools, was also in the vehicle.
We are not able to release the students’ names at this time.

Many of you may have already seen social media posts and news reports of the fatal car accident that occurred this morning (Oct 29). Our hearts are heavy with this devastating news, and we know the only way we will cope with this grief is to be together.

 Beryl Newman Stadium, Baraboo High School, 1201 Draper St., Baraboo, WI 53913 will be open on Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. to Support Student Services Staff, and members of the Baraboo faith community will be on-site to provide grief counseling to any student who needs support. And Sauk County Department of Health and Human Services, and the School District of Baraboo Student Services Staff will continue to provide grief counseling and support Monday.

We condole with the family of the deceased in this period of their grieve and pray for speedy recovery of the injured.
