Jeffrey Bruxvoort Death – Obituary : Authorities have identified 54-year-old Jeffrey Bruxvoort of Grand Rapids, Michigan as the trucker that was killed in Saturday’s crash that took place around 6:30 a.m. on I-80, east of Larkin Avenue.
The identity of the driver was released on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 by Illinois State Police Trooper, Jayme Bufford.
According to report Bruxvoort, the driver of the 2018 Peterbilt semitrailer was killed after he left the roadway and struck several trees and a utility pole.
Investigators revealed that traffic was slowing down due to the ongoing construction on the eastbound lanes of interstate 80, east of Larkin Avenue.
Bruxvoort was travelling east, nearing the slowed traffic he struck the rear of a 2019 Toyota Highlander before veering off the roadway and struck several trees and a utility pole and afterwards, the semitrailer caught fire.
Police also said that a 2020 heading west on I-80 at the same location was struck by falling electrical lines.
Will County Coroner’s Office pronounced Bruxvoort dead on the scene. Meanwhile, the occupants of the Toyota Highlander and Ford were not hurt.
Report has it that approximately 1,000 customers lost power after the crash and Power was restored around 2:30 p.m. same day.
