Alex Ajanaku Death – Obituary : Authorities said a teen, identified as Alex Ajanaku was shot dead while sitting outside with his friend on a bench moments after an illegal rave in East London.
Police responded to the Beaumont Road, Waltham Forest at about 1:29 a.m. Wednesday on a shots fired reports.
Responded officers located 18-year-old Alex Ajanaku with critical gunshot injuries. Officers administered first aid while waiting for arrival of London Ambulance Service Paramedics.
Ajanaku was pronounced dead at the scene about an hour later, according to reports.
Authority said an autopsy reports carried out states cause of death as “gunshot injuries”.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams from the Metropolitan Police Specialist Crime Command said “the shooting took place outside an unlicensed music event and a confirmed small group were sitting on a bench when shots were fired.”
“This was a senseless attack on a young man who had the rest of his life ahead of him, My thoughts are with Alex family and friends at this difficult time, Whellams added.
“We have a team of officers dedicated to finding those responsible and i would urge anyone with information that could help the investigation to contact us immediately. We believe Alex had been at an unlicensed music event on the Beaumont Estate on the evening of the Tuesday, Aug.31st,” he added.
