John Kovach Death – Obituary : Police say, a man, of Akron, booked for trial on Monday for murder recently pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, according to reports.

 

27-year-old Thomas Unrue  pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter with a gun specification in Summit County Common Pleas Court, reports said.

 

Prosecutors agreed to dismiss the other charges against him.

Reports said, Judge Mary Margaret Rowlands will give her verdict on at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 4th.

Unrue is charged in the fatal shooting of John Kovach, of Akron.

Police found Kovach shot in a business Dec. 18 in the 1000 block of Brown Street in Akron. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Unrue was originally charged with murder, felonious assault and having a weapon under disability, which means a person was prohibited from having a firearm because of a prior conviction.
