Aaron Lowe Death – Obituary : 21-year-old Aaron Lowe, a football player was shot to death overnight Sunday in Lake City , according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.
The shooting incident happened at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday at the 2200 block of South Broadmoor, reports said.
Authorities said the shooting also left another unidentified person in a critical condition.
The University of Utah player was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Chief Mike Brown said in a release; “I am deeply saddened by the shooting death of Aaron Lowe, this talented young man touched the lives of so many here in Salt Lake City and in Texas. The Salt Lake City Police Department grieves with and offers our condolences to the Lowe family and the University of Utah community.”
Spencer Cox the governor of Utah, on Twitter sent his condolences to Lowe’s friends and families;
What happened to Aaron Lowe?
Lowe was in his third season playing with Utah and was the first recipient of the Ty Jordan Memorial Scholarship.
The award was created in honor of former Utah player Ty Jordan who was killed after an accidental shooting in December 2020.

Police are still currently investigating the shooting.
Investigators are speaking to witnesses and searching for video evidence that may have captured the shooting or the moments leading up to it.
No arrests have been made as of Sunday afternoon.
Officials said the scene has been cleared and there is no threat to the public at this time.
