Search for A Jit Khan, 34 year-old man reported missing in Wagin Flood waters continues.
A Jit Khan was seen last driving through the rising Wagin Flood waters on Tuesday, July 28th 2021. On his way home from Perth to Katanning after visiting some friends. He was driving a grey Mitsubishi.
The WA police are worried about his safety because the water level became very high as the river rose to more than 1 meter and fear he could have been in danger. The police air wing and a drone are searching the river and nearby farmland with the help of the State Emergency Service and police boats.
The vehicle of the 34 year-old was found abandoned in the flood waters on Tuesday morning.
Superintendent Travers said “We are doing everything we can for A Jit and his family. We are absolutely feeling for them at this very difficult time, We are keeping hope that we will find A Jit Kahn.” The police also said another Range Rover was found in the location but they found it’s owner safe.
The drivers window of A Jit vehicle was opened. “The natural thought process is it could be used to exit the vehicle, he could’ve climbed out,” Travers said. “We’re hopeful A Jit made his way onto the embankment and that he is somewhere in this area.”
Travers urged anyone in the area to keep a look out for A Jit saying he might have sought for refuge nearby.
A Jit was seen last wearing blue jeans, a blue jacket, and white slippers with black soles.
Anyone who has seen him or has information on his whereabouts should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
