50-year-old man killed in A299 Thanet Way car and lorry crash
A man believed to be in his 50s has reportedly die following a crash involving a car and a lorry on
Emergency services were called to the accident scene involving a white DAF skip loader truck that collided with a black Peugeot 3008 along the east-bound carriageway of the A299 Thanet Way, just before St Nicholas-at-Wade, around 1:40 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021.
The 50-year-old driver of the black Peugeot was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The A299 Thanet Way was shutdown in both directions between Herne Bay and St Nicholas-at-Wade.
The London-bound carriageway was reopened minutes later while the eastbound lanes were reopened around 9:00 p.m.
Investigation into the crash is ongoing by Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit
