Woman hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash in Vereeniging, South Africa
A 44-year-old woman has been airlifted to the hospital with life threatening injuries after the vehicle she was travelling in collided with a truck at the intersection of the R82 and R54 on Wednesday evening in in Vereeniging, South Africa.
According to report ER24 paramedics arrived the scene of the collision around 7:12 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2021 and found the male driver of vehicle pacing up and down around the scene while the female passenger was trapped in the backseat of the vehicle.
The driver received moderate injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to Mediclinic in Vereeniging for further medical treatment.
The female passenger was extricated and intubated before being airlifted with life threatening injuries by medical helicopter to a private hospital for medical treatment.
Emfuleni Traffic Department and South African Police Services responded to the crash.
It was not immediately made known if the truck driver was hurt.
