26-year-old woman injured in Whitby Kendalwood Plaza shooting

Officials with the Durham police are probing an early morning shooting incident in Whitby that left one woman injured, reports said.

Authorities responded to Kendalwood Plaza, in Dundas Street East and Kendalwood Road, at about 3 a.m. on a disturbance reports.

A 26-year-old woman was located by arriving officials suffering from a gunshot wound.

She was transported to a trauma center in Toronto with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

No suspect description was immediately given.
