The Michigan State Police say a man,25,of Novi, was fatally shot on the 1-96 Freeway in a targeted incident Monday.
Reports said the Detroit Police Department contacted the Detroit Regional Communication Centre reporting that they saw a vehicle with apparent bullet holes while on patrol.
The incident took place at approximately 3 p.m. close to 1-96 EB lanes, Greenfield.
The man was taken to an area hospital, where he was declared dead, reports states.
Authorities said, eastbound I-96 Local at 39/Southfield was initially closed along with NB & SB M-39 Ramps to EB I-96 closed local lanes, but disclosed that “all lanes has now been reopened.”
Investigators are still on the scene, according to MSP via a tweet stated the shooting does not appear to be a random type.
