Authorities said 24-year-old Camron Thomas has been arrested on Monday in connection to a fatal shooting in 2020 October 9th.

Thomas was arrested by the Richmond Police  and has been charged with murder, first-degree burglary, first-degree attempted robbery, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Police said  Thomas shot and killed a man during an attempted robbery.

Thomas entered and remained unlawfully in the victim’s residence with the intent of committing a crime with a deadly weapon and caused physical injury to the victim, who was not a participant in the crime, according to court documents.

Officials responded to a reported burglary with shots fired at about 1:43 a.m. A male victim with a gunshot wound was located at the scene.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The release on Facebook states investigators have been working over the past year to collect evidence and interviewed witnesses who identified Thomas as the one responsible for the homicide.
