21-year-old keuntae mcelroy arrested in Texarkana party shooting
21-year-old Keuntae McElroy, of Texarkana Arkansas have been arrested in connection to the mass shooting at a Halloween party Saturday night on Texas Boulevard, reports say.
McElroy reportedly turned himself in and have been booked into the Bi-State jail on one count of aggravated assaults, police said.
Other charges will be filed against him on Monday.
A 20 year-old man was killed and at least nine other people injured shortly before midnight Saturday in the shooting took place inside Octavia’s Activity Center in the 2300 block of Texas Boulevard, Police said.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired at a business, and upon arrival they saw a large number people running from the building, with several on the inside suffering from gunshot wounds. The injured victims were transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center and CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital in a stable condition.
A preliminary investigation indicates the the shooting may have resulted from some type of disturbance among some of the party participants.
The identity of the deceased victim, who died a short time later at one of the hospitals, is still being withheld, pending family notification, Vaughn said.
