A 2-year-old child has died after the vehicle the child was in was struck by a woman who was driving south in the northbound lanes of the freeway. The tragic incident happened on Sunday at about 3 a.m on the Eastex Freeway at North Loop 610.
The wrong-way driver and the child in the crushed car were reported dead at the scene by the Houston police. According to a police officer, the wrong driver drove in a wrong direction before the accident. According to report, the rest of the family involved in the accident have been rushed to the hospital in a critical state.
This is the second wrong-way accident recorded to have occurred in the Houston area in the past few months. In Westpark Tollway, on the 9th of July, three persons were killed including a toddler in an incessive crush.
