2 Two Lone Grove High School students killed in two-vehicle collision

Two Lone Grove High School students have reportedly be killed in a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Thursday morning just before Sulphur.

According to Oklahoma authorities, the wreck happened around 8:00 a.m. near mile marker 5 on the Chickasaw Turnpike in Murray County, Oklahoma.

Report has it that the crash occurred when the teen traveling north on the Chickasaw Turnpike in a pickup crossed the center line and collided with a 2006 International 9400 semi-truck head-on sending the semi off the road and after which the semi caught fire.

The two juvenile were trapped inside the car for about an hour.

Both the 16-year-old driver of the pickup and the 17-year-old passenger were declared dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the 44-year old semi-truck driver was transported to OU Medical Hospital in Norman where according to authorities, is in stable condition.

Their airbags deployed but authorities say the driver was not wearing a seatbelt when the accident occurred.
