15-Year-Old teen Charged In Fatal Shooting Of 15-Year-Old Girl

Authorities say a 15-year-old teen is facing manslaughter charges after being shooting and killing 15-year-old girl.

Tampa police responded to the 3600 block of North 22nd Street at about 1:27 a.m. Oct. 15th on a shooting report.

Arriving officials located the 15-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the leg. The girl told police that her friend, a 15-year-old boy, shot her and then fled the scene.

Several witnesses testified to the girl’s statement.

She was transported to the hospital where she was treated and released.

Next day, she was taken back to the hospital on complications of the gunshot wound, where she died Oct. 18.

Following the shooting, police issued a warrant for 15-year-old boy’s arrest, and he turned himself in to police the following day.

He was still in custody at the Juvenile Assessment Center on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, improper exhibition of a dangerous weapon and minor in possession of a firearm when the girl died.

The identity of the girl is not immediately released.
