On Tuesday morning, a 14-year-old boy was knocked down by a vehicle when he was crossing a street around 8 a.m. in the area near South 59th Avenue and Baseline Road.
According to the police, the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle driving north on 59th Avenue in the area of Betty H. Fairfax High School in Laveen.
It was gathered that the victim was on the road and not in a crosswalk at the time of the incident.
Phoenix police spokesperson, Sgt. Ann Justus added that the teen was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was at the scene during investigation.
There is no additional information concerning the incident at the moment.
