1 juvenile killed, 3 others hurt in a single-vehicle crash in Bartlett
According to police, a 16-year-old boy has died following a single-vehicle crash in Bartlett.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of of Newport Lane and Devon Avenue.
The 16-year-old boy was heading westbound on Devon Avenue from Newport Blvd, when his vehicle struck a curb, a speed limit sign, and then a utility pole before it rolled over on its roof leading to the death of Alex Czerwik, 16, who was sitting at the front passenger seat.
The driver was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center with minor injuries. A 16-year old boy, who was sitting in the rear passenger seat, was taken to Central DuPage Hospital with minor injuries and Another 16-year old boy, who was also sitting in the rear passenger seat, was also transported to St. Alexius Hospital critical injuries.
Devon Avenue was closed between Newport Boulevard and Prospect Avenue for approximately six hours while Bartlett Police Department and DuPage County MERIT investigated the crash.
